The Choices by Pastor Mark Jensen
Good morning friends and family of God Honor Strength, welcome to the beginning of a new week, a week that God has already laid out for you, we just have to follow his guidance, his direction, his will. I hope each of you had an amazing and blessed weekend, and were able to spend time with those that you love, including our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

This morning as I was enjoying my first cup of coffee, I was thinking about what my day is going to hold and what decisions I am going to have to make and how my life could possibly change with the choices I do make. The decisions we make every day will inevitably affect our lives and at times, other people's lives as well, even when we don't realize it. They don't even have to be major decisions; they may be simple decisions we don't even think about, yet they end up having a major impact.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Psalm 3:5-6

(My favorite of all scriptures)
Today, take a second and stop for a moment and think about it. We make hundreds of decisions each and every day. From the moment we open our eyes in the morning, right after we thank God for a new day, we are having to start making decisions. Now granted, most of those first decisions are the same every day and we make them without even having to think about it, like what am I going to have for breakfast or am I going to have two or three cups of coffee this morning, or am I going to work today or not. But then there are those decisions that you have to make that will define your day, possibly define your life, and even possibly others lives as well. This is the time, those are the decisions that you need to seek God and ask him for his guidance and direction, and place your trust in him, knowing he will insure that the right choice is made and that you are following His plan, that you are following His will and you walking the path He has laid out for you.
In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.
Proverbs 16:9

Whenever there is a decision that you have to make, especially one that carry quite a bit of weight, that may have life altering changes, you need to stop and think about the outcome of your decision before setting it in stone. Look at the ends before the means and then ask God which is the right choice. Your decision to text and drive may not only affect you, but everyone else on the road with you. Your decision to go to the doctor or not, when you aren't feeling well will surely affect your life and possibly all those that care about you. Your decision to pursue or not pursue that dream that God has planted in your heart will most assuredly determine your life's path as well as those that depend on you. The key here is to actually follow that which God answers, even when in our own minds it does not make sense at the time. Our Father in Heaven, the creator of all, the creator of you, laid out his plans for you even before you were born. He knows what your tomorrow will bring, he knows what your future holds. Why wouldn't you trust in Him.

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the lord; trust in him and he will do this. He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.

Psalm 37:4-6
Today as you get ready to start your day, I would like to ask you to think about the decisions you are facing for a few moments longer and to ask God for his guidance. Some of your decisions will be easy to make and others, not so much, but that is when you need to seek God's advice. He will help you make the right choice, he will show you which path to take, he will insure the decision you make will be part of his plan for you. Live your life by God's will and not your own and your path will remain straight.

As I speak a blessing over each of you this morning, always remember, I am here for you if you ever need to talk or get something off your chest or if you need prayer for yourselves, your family or your friends. Please do not hesitate to contact me.

May the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; may the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.

Dear Father God, thank you for blessing us with this day and loving us as Your children. Watch over each and every one of us as we start each day, as we go through this week, keeping us in the palm of Your hand. Guide us in our daily lives, directing us on the path You have planned for us, bringing forth the dreams you have planted in each of our hearts. For we know who we are and whose we are, children of the most high God. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

"Keep your Faith strong, your Hope alive and your Prayers never ending."
God Bless
