I awoke to the words: I am calling forth my polished purple remnant. They will be well-trained and walk in humility. They will roar in the spirit realm, but walk in gentleness with my people. They will know how to give a gentle answer that turns away wrath.

But you, oh Lord, are God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness (Psalm 86:15). See what kind of love the father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.

The reason why the world does not know us, is that did not know him (1 John 3:1). We get all excited when we hear about the call on our lives with words like anointed, powerful, chosen, royal priesthood, a holy nation, the called out ones. But when hit with the reality of being persecuted, forgotten by friends, suffering in the world and in need. Suddenly, we find ourselves grasping at God with one hand and the life we left behind with the other.

The flesh is an unruly thing. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts (Galatians 5:24). Immediately when we think of crucifying the flesh our mind goes to sins of adultery, sexual immorality, drinking, drugs and over eating. And yes, these are all sins that we need under our feet and free from the bondage of. But, what if I told you part of crucifying the flesh is the willingness to go against the grain. To be foolish in the eyes of the world, to sometimes go without our basic needs.

What if God asked you to give it all up today and follow him. Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me” (Matthew 19:21). It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God (Mark 10:25). Jesus called out to them, come....follow me, and I will make you fishers of men (Matthew 4:19).

Jesus is saying, come step out of the boat, it is time to walk on the water Peter! Those who love their life unto the death will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it (Matthew 16:15). Won’t you come be found with Jesus....
