The Shadow of Death by Tammy Lang Jensen

Many of my children are swimming through stormy seas right now. I say keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. It always seems darkest just before the dawn. 

The people who walk in darkness will see a great light; those who live in a dark land, the light will shine on them (Isaiah 9:2). I hear the Lord calling out to his children who sit in darkness, who are alone in an unlit room.

Who the enemy has bound up with depression, discouragement, mockery, suicidal thoughts, and self contempt and loathing. The Lord says, you are the apple of his eye; he has a heart for no other but you. If he had been asked to go to the cross that day for only you, he would’ve done it just the same. The Lord will shine upon those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide their feet into the way of peace (Luke 1:79). The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it (John 1:5). Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12). Where the light of the Lord is, depression must flee.

When the light of the Lord shows up, even demons tremble. You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God, good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror(James 2:19). Have you embraced your authority and power in Jesus Christ? But if the spirit of him that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he that raised Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his spirit that dwelleth in you (Romans 8:11). I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father (John 14:12).

If we could just embrace one tenth of this promise, we could change the atmosphere of the church. Signs, wonders, and miracles would be common practice. How we struggle as humans to believe what God has said. Is he a man, that he should lie? My Holy Warriors and Priests will walk in power and authority. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and NOTHING Shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19).....
