Head down, just enduring the storm. Then the Lord asked me what the difference was between the eagle and the hawk. Both have amazing vision, are great hunters, and have the ability to soar through the sky. Why then does the eagle fly above the storm and the hawk endure it.
When I went to read about the eagle and the hawk. It said, as a rule neither will choose to fly above the storm. When they are that high there is too much cloud cover that impairs their vision and they can’t see to hunt. So they will normally just endure the storm and stay where they can find food. Maybe you are praying for a mountain experience, but the valley is where the garden grows. And the broken, hurting and lost that need the Jesus in you, well they are in the valley. Trust in God’s Positioning System, he knows where you can do the most good. On hearing this, Jesus said to them, it is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.
I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners (Mark 2:17). Remain humble, remain steadfast. Tell the people of Jerusalem, look, your King is coming to you. He is humble riding on a donkey-riding on a donkey’s colt (Matthew 21:5). Gods people, his humble servants have proclaimed all out war on the enemy of their soul. Wars are fought on battlefields and in the trenches. Won’t you armor up and join me! As we pray to our God and Father about you, your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 1:3)....
