Add about 3 o’clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice,”Eli, Eli, Lema Sabachthani?” Which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?” (Matthew 27:46).
Many have felt they have walked through the crucible, their own private furnace of affliction. See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction (Isaiah 48:10).
Take heart and be of good courage, the affliction is but a moment, but the reward is for a lifetime. If the foot soldiers weary you, what will you do when the horseman come? If you have run with Footmen and they have tired you out, then how can you compete with horses? If you fall down in a land of peace, how will you do in the Thicket of the Jordan? (Jeremiah 12:5). Make no mistake, we are in a season of warfare like never before.
However, we serve a God of the impossible. We serve a God who parted the Red Sea. But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid.” Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today, will never be seen again (Exodus 14:13). Just like the Israelites, you are coming out of Egypt and into the promised land. Rest assured the things that trouble you now, will trouble you no more.
You are coming out of the fire without even the smell of smoke. So Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stepped out of the fire. Then the high officers, officials, governors, and advisers crowded around them and saw the fire had not touched them. Not a hair on their head was singed and their clothing was not scorched.
They didn’t even smell of smoke! (Daniel 3:27). Jesus is your fourth Man, he will reach his hand into the flame to rescue you. Those who walk with God, never walk alone....
