Oh how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust in You in the presence of the sons of men! (Psalm 31:19 NKJV).
God is calling you to a deeper level of trust in Him. He is stretching you to believe in His goodness and love towards you.
It honors God when you believe He is going to turn things for your good, despite how it seems in the natural. Anyone can believe God is good when things are going well, but it takes faith to believe in His goodness when your life seems to be shattering around you.
Those who trust God and walk in faith can confidently face the devil and say, “I still trust God and know without a shadow of doubt that He is good and His mercy endures forever! I know His goodness is going to be poured out in my life, because I know His heart. I know it is impossible for God to let me down, or for Him to fail me in any way.”
Psalm 91:1-2 (NKJV) gives this assurance: “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” It then goes on to quote the righteous one who has made God his refuge: “I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him will I trust.’”
God promises to honor those who put their trust in Him: “He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him” (Psalm 91:15 NKJV).
So, when people hurt you and the devil is trying to torment you with hopelessness, doubt, and depression, just declare out loud, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust!”
Confession: My God is a faithful God who has good things stored up for me right now. I put my trust in Him, knowing that as I abide in Him, he will deliver me and honor me.
