If you were standing on the edge of a rainbow, and each color led to a different place.
Would you know which color and path to take? Each spiritual life has a rhythm to it, a time and a place where things just flow.
Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, “Rivers of living water will flow from his heart” (John 7:38). Who kept the sea inside its boundaries as it burst from the womb, for I locked it behind barred gates, limiting its Shores. I said, “This far and no farther will you come. Here your proud waves stop” (Job 38:8-11). You will ebb and flow, but the tide of the battle is mine to turn. If you feel pressed and held in on every side. Just like the sea, the Lord has established your boundaries.
And just as the gate is there to keep the sheep safe. So my hand is there to keep you from harm. Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures (John 10:9). Should you not fear me? Declares the Lord. Should you not tremble in my presence? I made the sand a boundary for the sea, and everlasting barrier it cannot cross. The waves may roll, but they cannot prevail; they may roar, but they cannot cross it (Jeremiah 5:22). So Lord, when I stand and kick at the wrong door. Thank you, for keeping it shut in your great mercy. And when I get lost, thank you for lighting my path. Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105).
Thank you for your blood on the doorways of my life. But the blood on your door post will serve as a sign, marking the houses where you are staying. When I see the blood, I will pass over you. This plague of death will not touch you when I strike the land of Egypt (Exodus 12:13). You are a sovereign Lord, and you keep every promise you make. The enemy may fight us, but our ultimate victory lies in you.
We are hedged in (pressed) on every side, but not cramped or crushed; we suffer embarrassments and are perplexed and unable to find a way out, but not driven to despair (2 Corinthians 4:8). And remember this one thing: When The enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19). Your boundaries are for your safety, but your Lord has no end. He is a limitless God, holding a MIRACLE in his hand for you....
