I heard him beckoning them to feast on him, to feast on the word. Then with the most gentle of correction, he let them know they had headed out in waters that were far too deep for them. That they were still babes in the word, but taking on battles like they were Navy SEALs. Wise men train and prepare for battle.
Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent and discerning if they hold their tongues (Proverbs 17:28). Many are at a crossroads in their training where they are learning to “Be Still, And Wait Upon The Lord!” Marching orders will come if you sit quietly at the Master’s feet. Martha, Martha, the Lord answered, you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one.
Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her (Luke 10:41-42). Have you allowed confusion into your camp. Have you allowed the enemy to come and have you busy with many things. I am here to encourage you. Get quiet, slow down, and wait upon the Lord. He will direct you and guide your every step. Are you prepared to give him the reins again? Do not be like the horses or the mule which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridal or they will not come to you (Psalm 32:9).
Don’t resent the days of small beginnings, the Lord wants to give you a firm foundation. The rain fell, the torrents raged, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it’s foundation was on the Rock (Matthew 7:25). On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. Help Christ quit having to come out to the deep end to rescue you. Get trained up, prayed up, and read the word. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:2).
So sharpen your sword, which is the word of God. Make sure you wield it with precision, so it goes straight to the heart of the matter. Quit chasing after smoke and mirrors, know who your enemy is. I decree and declare: from this day forward, you will be a model soldier. Waiting upon your chief and commander, the Alpha and Omega, the one true living God, the maker of heaven and earth. Yahweh, Elohim, Adonai, the King above all kings. So say to the Lord today, I will gladly be your disciple, where you lead I will follow. A bondservant, sold out to the King....
