Romans 12:1-2
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
God has an exact purpose for you. Paul called it the "good and acceptable and perfect will of God." There are three ways to know the perfect will of God.
First, we know His will through the written Word of God. You can never do something contrary to the Word of God and be in the will of God. Go to the Word of God and find out what it says, then obey it.
The second way we know God's will is through circumstances, because He controls the circumstances in your life. If you are sixty years old, don't speak Chinese, and have no funding behind you, you have no reason to believe God has called you to missionary work in China.
The third way is the peace of God in your heart. Isaiah said, "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You" (Isaiah 26:3). Do not go forward until you have the peace of God that surpasses understanding.
