His Stripes by John Hagee

The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

His Stripes by John Hagee
Isaiah 53:5 - “He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities.”

The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

We serve a healing Jesus. At one time Jesus healed a man by putting dirt in His hand and then spitting in it, mixing them together. Why? The Jewish people believed there was healing power in the spittle of the firstborn son of every family.

By this simple act, Jesus was saying He was the firstborn of God the Father and the Great Physician with the power to heal.

Jesus didn’t just have sympathy for us as sinful beings; He didn’t just feel badly for us when we became sick or when our lives were scarred by the effects of sin. He carried all of this away. At Golgotha’s Cross, He was our scapegoat. He didn’t just talk about healing us; He did something about it. On that sacred hill, death died. In John 6:47 Jesus affirmed, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.” At that moment sickness and disease died. The grave lost its sting.

We no longer have to worry about what tomorrow holds because we know WHO holds tomorrow. Everything is going to be alright.
