Proverbs 10:16— The labor of the righteous leads to life, The wages of the wicked to sin
Labor Day is a time set aside to honor America’s hardworking citizens. It is a day of rest to the laborer. But in today’s hostile economic environment, many of our work force are unable to rest because they seem to labor in vain. Why is that? It is because we forget that the paycheck, itself, does not deliver prosperity; it is the hand of God that determines financial freedom.
Our prosperity is assured if we will follow the principles of God’s Investment Manual—the Bible. Joshua 1:8 says, “This Book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38
I want you to understand the importance of doing what farmers do. Learn to plant your spiritual seed for the harvest that God will bring to you. God wants us to plant our seed in good ground— the kingdom of God. Be sure that the places where you plant your seed are true and accurate representations of the kingdom of God.
In this climate of great global unrest, have confidence in God. If we follow God’s economic system in His Word, we have nothing to fear. God is on the throne—and He protects His own and He will make His servant’s labor prosper indeed:
The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD,
And He delights in his way.
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down;
For the LORD upholds him with His hand.
I have been young, and now am old;
Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken,
Nor his descendants begging bread.
He is ever merciful, and lends;
And his descendants are blessed.
